im not sure if it applies to dell, but my guess is it does.

my past experience with computers prebuilt for you are that

yes, it does comes with tools you can probably live withought.
yes, some of the stuff are useless, you probably wont even need.
yes, some of the stuff are trials, or demos, so there really is no point in keeping it

if you reboot, nothing will happen. it will still be the same laptop.

however, if you reformat, it will probably be the same, the recovery disc/xp disc (whatever you got) will most likely install almost the same setup if its a "manuafacture" made/programed/patched disc. if its a new xp, you can probably get a clean install.

conclusion:
if you wish, you can opt for a format, you wont lose much, you will just have to reinstall and update the drivers and hardwares.
---what i will probably do is just uninstall the unused/demos/trials.

"reboot"........my bad i meant reformat......but thanks i will probably just do that and unistall them

and how do you think my specs look for the price? i used a $750 coupon!!!!

sounds like you got a pretty good deal. i got a toshiba satelllite m45 s351 for roughly 1250 and did not get as much as what you got, so in my opinions, that coupon served you well.

It seems a bit expensive to me, but nothing u can do now, lol

Anyway, when i got my laptop they included a bunch of software that i didnt want. But there was 1 program that i wanted to keep, it was the battery manager where you can lower the brightness, cpu speed, ect. For my laptop, i could go to www.acer.com and download the software, so im sure you can with dell to.
