Think ahead? Need help!

I'm looking for more memory. I have 1gb, I am looking for 2GB. I don't care if I don't use my one single 1gb, it was a cheaper piece anyway. My motherboard only supports 667. I have just a cheap motherboard (p5ld2) at the moment but will most likely replace it later on with a better one. Should I think ahead and get memory such as 800mhz? Will that work, or will the speeds drop slower than 667 for some reason?

I'm kind of lost on how the speed rates go for memory.. I see rates such as 4-4-4-15 (something like that). Lower the numbers the better? Or vice versa?

I'm looking to spend $150 USD max. Maybe, if someone could post me a link to either TigerDirect.ca or CanadaComputers.com with a recommendation that would be awesome.

Thanks a lot!

i would recommend the Corsair also BUT you need to look and see if your motherboard is DDR, DDR2, 184pin or 240pin before you buy

he said that his motherboard supports 667mhz. i could be wrong, but i am pretty sure the only kind of RAM that runs at that speed is 240pin DDR2, which the Corsair XMS2 is a perfect fit for.

oh yeah, and he said he has the p5ld2 which has support for DDR2 667mhz

For timings, yes lower is better.

If you want to use the RAM you currently have this is probably a good enough match so that neither stick is limiting the other: http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=009851&cid=RAM.475

If you want a new 2GB set, I think this is the best for the price at CC: http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=013240&cid=RAM.475
