Been doing some reading and i believe imma buy 2 GTX260's and SLI them. 1.i can get both for 500 bucks, 2. a single GTX260 216 is damn near as good as a gtx280, with a mild overclock itll b about the same from what i hear/read. 3. im an nvidia fan, always have been ever since i got rid of my 9800pro back in the day, awlays had shitty luck with ati drivers... 4. i dont think ill ever spend almost 1k on video cards, meaning i dont think ill ever buy 2 gtx280s, might as well spend the extra 100 bucks and get better performance from 2 cards, and by the time i need to upgrade the gtx280s/260s they will b like an 8800gt is now... middle of the road cards.....

unless....u guys have a better idea. :)

i can only play crysis on high...some very high no aa but it gets pretty choppy.. farcry 2 has its slowdowns too, and i havent got outside yet in FO3 so i dunno how it does there....u can tell its aging
 
Nah, thats exactly what I'm doing. Cept I'm getting XFX 260 It is faster than a c216 superclocked. And it beats the 280 on some test and even beats the 4870x2 on some resolutions. those are 300 each threw newegg. but if you sli them like you and and i want too. damn it's going to be damn sweet.
 
im not gonna buy a 400 dollar card, then another, imma buy a 22'' monitor, and the 2 260s should b more than enough to run crysis on max settings with 16xaf no aa. and whatever other high intense games that are to come in 2009...
