Thinking about a new computer

Hi

The time has come to upgrade the toaster to something new and more powerful. As I am not too much of a "home builder" I prefer buying a working package...

I have been thinking about getting the following:
-Intel® Core™2 Quad Core Q6600
(2,40 GHz, 1.066 MHz, 8 MB cache)
-768 MB nVidia® GeForce® 8800 GTX
-4 GB Dual DDR2 SDRAM (getting Vista)
and some other normal stuff that shouldn't impact the performance too much (like sound and ATA Stripe Raid 0 1TB HD)

The thing I am wondering most about, is whether switching to a Duo Core with 3 GHz and 1333 Mhz (and I think 4MB cache). It is almost the same price, but since most programs only run 2 processors, the added ghz and mhz might be better than the quad processor (although the quad would be able to offload other programs from the the first 2 processors).
I could of course go for the quad 3 ghz/1333 mhz 8 mb cache but that adds almost 1000 euros (that's like 1600 dollars by now or so) to the price making it a pretty expensive choice? What do you think about this?

Also, I am thinking about the graphic card. Is it better with 2 * 512 or 1 * 756? Is nvidia the way to go though?

I mostly use the computer for home stuff (e-mailing, surfing, playing music and stuff like that) and of course playing (WoW, Civ, and so on).

Thanks - and happy playing/working out there.

CPU: Get E8400 or Q9450.
Video card: 8800GTS 512MB instead of GTX
Go for GTX/ Ultra only if you want to run Tri-SLi. But SLi is waste of money anyway.
