Thinking about adding or replacing case fans

I have a Thermaltake armor case that has two 120mm fans, one exhaust and one intake. I have been thinking about either replacing them with more powerful fans or just adding an intake fan and replacing the exhaust fan. For the intake, I have space above the stock fan to add another one. I would have to rig up a way to hold it in place.

I have been looking at some 120x38mm fans on Newegg. Are there any certain ones you would recommend and any that I should stay away from?

One reason I want to do this is I am trying to lower my temps. Right now my cpu temp idles around 40 degrees. How much would replacing the fans help lower the temps?

If you want to lower your CPU temps, then get an aftermarket CPU cooler.

Btw, 40c idle temp is not bad at all.

I'm not just trying to lower my cpu temps. I am just trying to get better temps overall and better airflow. I just wondered how much it would affect the cpu temps.

BTW, I do have an aftermarket cooler, check my sig.

scythe kaze's are for people on a budget, look at the 120x38 fans here, beware though, some get very loud, very fast, and also have a large draw

I really don't want to add a side fan. I don't feel like messing up my side panel.

I'm not too concerned about the noise unless they get so loud I can't hear myself think. I just want something that is going to move air better than my stock fans.

What kind of number is high for draw?

anything above 1/2 of an amp, at that point it can damage motherboard headers, some of them that are about 1.5 amps can begin to tax a molex connection, those delta 3 bladed fans would be pretty good(get a resistor for 7 volts, they'll still move a decent amount of air and be quiet at the same time

If your usign a high powered fan i would recommend looking into a decent fan controller like the scythe kaze master, handles a good amount of amperage.

I might look into getting a couple of the ones that Bob692006 recommended. Would I have to get a fan controller? If so, which one?

FYI, ebay seems to be cheaper on fans than Newegg. If I go through ebay, it will be about 12 bucks cheaper than buying off of Newegg. Newegg seems to be higher than everyone else on fans.

Those fans will make your computer literally sound like a jet engine. And hooking up high speed Delta fans to fan controllers might be a fire hazard as they draw so much power.

If you want better cooling I would get a better CPU heat sink with more efficient fans.
