I'm thinking of purchasing a new laptop. But i wanted to know if it would be worth it. I currently have an IBM Thinkpad T60, 250gig HDD, 3Gigs of ram, it has an X1400 128mg video card, with an Intel Duo 1.66. I have been looking at these two

but what Passmark has them rated at they really dont seem to be that much higher. What are your opions??

What are you doing with the laptop? Do you need the extra CPU power RAM and HDD space?

I like the 2nd one better discrete graphics 400%/600% more powerful than the other and the one you have and DX11 the others are DX9 and DX10. Plus larger HDD is worth $100 unless you only do office type stuff and no 3D of any kind.

Be aware you would be going from one of the best built top end notebooks to a low end build quality. The T60 is business class the Toshiba's consumer class. You have had that T60 for a long time. Good chance Toshiba will not last that long with out case issues.

The performance of the new should be substantial. How much depends on what you do. I am going to guess your current peak RAM bandwidth 3300MB/s the new will likely be 3x that.
