Thinking of buying this laptop, is it worth it?

I need a laptop as my old ones broken, i know this guy who's selling two laptops and i was wondering if you guys think they're worth it.. i don't have a clue about laptops and i don't want to get ripped off so i'm asking for some help..

Anyhow, these are the two he's selling..

Acer - Travelmate 4200 for £250

and

Acer - Travelmate 4260 for £400

Are these any good? Are they worth the price he's asking..?

Probably not, but it depends on the specs. Based on a quick google search, those laptops most likely only have a 1.66Ghz processor and either 512mb or 1gb of RAM, which is not much. If those are the specs, you could definitely find a better deal.
 
i just sold a dual core2duo 1.6ghz acer laptop with 1gig ddr2 and 120 gig hard drive including genuine vista 32bit for £150...

my advice is shop about
