OEM image fresh installs don't fix it. installation of xp wont fix it. new drivers wont fix it. I got to to "work" but produces no output from jacks or speakers. I see no setting in it for BIOS. I'm guessing it's a bad card?

I'm guessing you're talking about sound? Does the audio device have a yellow "!" in the device manager? Or does it say it's working properly? I would imagine if you correctly installed the drivers and installed the correct drivers. and the volume is turned up both physically on any volume control dial, and in software that it is a hardware defect. I'm not sure if that model has a seperate sound board or not. Some laptops do. Most likely though the system board will have to be replaced.
