i have a thinkpad t22 and it has a bios pw and a startup pw on it well i removed the lil cmos battery underneith the laptop battery and have left it sit out and it didnt reset the pws can i get some help plz

how long did you leave it out. Sometimes you have to leave those out a lot longer than you'd think, but that should reset it.

yeah, sometimes it can take a lot longer than you'd imagine it would take. Overnight should do the trick though.

k i took the hdd out and put in my dell well it has a pw on it and u cant access it unless u enter the pw, so that was one password screen i couldnt get passed ne 1 know how to get rid of the pw

k it had a 20gb travelstar hdd in it which i put into another laptop and it has a pw on it, is there ne way to disable the pw

ohhh that explains why pulling the bios battery didn't work, are you talking about the password to get into windows or a different password?

its a hard drive password it stops u from bein able to access the drive completely and from the research ive been doin the password is saved onto the eeprom of the hdd or something like that so the only way to get by it is to send it in there are a few other ways but i guess they dont work for ibm hdds

yeah i don't really know of any way to get around that since it's before you get into windows. Since it's written to the eeprom you probably won't be able to get around it by formatting the hard drive. So you either send it in or you're out of luck is what it looks like.
