its expensive, and so its DDR3 memory, but if thats what you are set on its an excellent board

Yeah, it seams a little overkill to me.
I would never pay that much for a motherboard.

As long as it performs great, handles the hardware going in, and can easily handle a Q9450 overclocked to 3.5ghz... i'm ok.

overclocking a q9450 on that motherboard will be cake, no doubt. but unless your rich you might be wasting your money on $200 dollars of ram that performs the same as $35 ram. (yeah $35 lol check newegg)
