This is a bit weird!!!

Right,

OK.

Had this Jeantech power supply that i sent to this guy for ebay.

Payed via paypal.

Was boxed in the original box with paper around it for protection.
This original box was all taped up..

This Jeantech box was sitting inside a bit alphacool box with a foam pad for protection.

Have got streams of brown tape around the thing and paper and tape covering the entry incase anyone wants to try and get into it.

Send it on friday and the morning after I get an email saying this

"Well Power supply arrived and its junk power connector socket is smashed with bits missing so I think it’s a bit odd

And it was not packed very good just a box in a box great"

WTF?!?!

This thing was sent with Royal Mail Special Delivery Next day.
Have looked at my delivery status and RM says everything has gone well?

He has also included some photos.





Im just left trying to figure out what the ****s gone on.

Is this genuine...which I cant believe as the sides are all scratched...thats impossibe for the courier to do unless they unwrap it all from my parcel. which he would of told me if they had!

This is making me really suspicious!

I think he could of either...had exactly the same unit and shown me photos of his to get a refund.

Or recieved mine..smashed it up and claims the post did it so he can get a refund.

What am I meant to do. I don't even know what to say to him im so pissed off:mad: :confused: :( ???????!!!!!!
 
id send him a message back saying that when you sent it the psu was in prime condition and well packaged and if something went wrong it happened in shipping or in another way outside of your control
 
First thing is to chill out, the worst thing you can do at times like therse is totally flip at the guy and ruin all chances of a peaceful resolution. E-Mail him abck and state that the power supply was in perect condition when you sent it and such damage could only be sustained if the package was opened during transit.

now we get into the details, if a parcel is damaged in transit, Royal Mail are liable only if you paid inurance on it, you say you did special delivery, so thats fine.

The thing to note now is that you ARE NOT LIABLE for any costs here, because its royal mails fault. Tell the guy this and if you can find any official RM document stating it, the better your case is.

Wait for him to reply, he will say something along the liones of "i dont care whos fault it is i want my money back" After he says this, you take all your proof of postage etc... down to the post office and tell them that the package was delivered all beaten up beyond repair. This is where you might also be able to con a few more £££'s out of them, they should ask you for the value of the item (if it is not already noted on your delivery documentation, it should be, lucky you if it wasnt, you get to make up a figure, lol). Then they start the process from there.

Just remeber you havent done anything, wrong, dont get nasty with him and stay cool, you wont have to pay and you SHOULD be able to keep your profit made, i would suggest you immediately transfer the funds from your paypal account into any bank account, also withdraw any credit cards that are assigned to that account. this disables a key route that the buyer may take to get some of his money back.

Sound advice, dragon. I personally smell a rat, but either way, you aren't liable for damage caused if the goods were insured, which by Special Delivery they certainly were.

Just asked him for a full picture of the unit at the moment just so i can get the serial and see if its the same.


I think it will be as I suspect he's just got it and smashed it up. for what ever reason:confused:

Why would you pay for something, smash it to pieces just to get your money back:confused: , surely its easier to just not buy the thing and keep your money!... I'l never understand some people.

Once he replies Il say that theres not much I could of done to prevent this and tell him that I will be going down to the post office for insurance to get him his money.:)

I've been thinking about it with my mum and she totally disbelives that it could of been the courier like me.

I mean, theres not much chance the man posting it would make that much effort to get it out the box and smash it up like that which would take him like 2 mins on his journey.

Theres no way that one bump could do 3 bits of damage in all different places either.
And theres also no way that this thing has been knocked about 3 times in the van, you wouldnt get scrapes like that down the side from it rubbing on cardboard!

Anway I'm just waiting for an email back from him.. Which will probably be asking for a refund. Then Il tell him what il do:) Not that I wan't to give him his cash back:mad: , But I do see its the quickest way when you have no evidence:)

As Long as you sent it well packaged then its not your fault, It is the postal service you used, or maybe the guys looking to make a buck from ripping you off.

Ive already given my advice earlier but i would just like o know how your gonna check its your one, you say to see if the serial number is the saem, but surely you did not memorize the serial number... did you..?

And yes, loking at the pictures you posted, those scratches look as if he has tried jamming it into a case but failed, the broken power connector input could have happened in transit, but not likely... what was the other damage to it?

Other damage was a smashed up power connector (The 24pin plug)

And no I didn't memorise the serial number lol I just have a pic of it on the listing and theres a number on the top of it.

Still waiting for an email back..
 
Lol I think the guys bottled it cos He knows Im on to him.


Emailed about a week an a half ago asking for a full product picture, (so I could see the serial)

Still have no email anywhere, and its been ages now!

Transfered the money into another account a week ago and theres no activity in paypal so I think hes left it :)

Thats where it doesn't go over so well.

I shipped out a computer via FedEx, and it got damaged in transit. So I talk with FedEx since i purchased insurance, but they said that the Newegg invoice isnt a significant proof of value, so they can only give me $100.

Im not sure about that currier, but i'm guessing they need a genuine proof of value, since this is how carriers get scammed out of lots of money.
 
Yeah, my bet is that the guy did this damage to one he already had, and then searched for one on eBay to see if he could scam somebody to get a free PSU. Oh well, good job catching the little rat, gotta be careful with eBay as either the seller or buyer...
