All it will show is that the majority of users here who probably have never used a Mac before, prefer PCs. It's kind like making a poll in the US (just to pick a random country), along the lines of "does the US suck" ... not a very meaningful poll

Thats exactly what i thought, still it shows that the majority of users on THIS forum still use PC's, which was to be expected really.
 
Oh crap, I use pc but I voted mac by accedent. So +1 for pc -1 for mac.

EDIT: And what about linux?

i'm a fan of pc's, i didn't really like using a mac at college... i suppose it was because it felt "alien" to me.

i dont see whats with a the "windows is crap" etc; if you dont like it dont use it. i cant be bothered with linux but i might dabble with it when i get my old system up and running again.

i'd be prepared to use a pc with windows any day :D
 
u dont like the powerbook or ibooks? i got a friend who loves his, and personally i wouldn't mind the powerbook. but a desktop Mac...no way.
 
Well I remember the day my parents got a new computer with windows 98... I had no idea what it was but I thought it was awesome and have been using
PCs since I was 4 so I guess they will always be first in my choice. But thats not to say I've never used macs, I use them alot but I still like PCs better.
 
my first computer ever was a mac. Then a few months later my parents got a windows 95. So i think i have an unbaised view of the older versions and i have to say windows had an edge on mac back then. And it seems like this "edge" has sorta turned into a "cliff" now a days with windows ontop.

Wow. For all of you who think that mac sucks:

Lets take Microsoft's past first. They have a tendency to copy off another company's ideas and call it their own. Mac os 10.4 has Spotlight and Windows Vista is going to have an integrated search feature. More? Plug and play was on the mac first. A GUI? Mac.

Your computers are running rampant with spyware and viruses, with security holes galore, and you still think that Windows is better? If the OS is used more than others, you'd think that Microsoft would be better at protecting Windows before it's released to the public and updated with a million patches.

Since some of you were raised using Windows machines, i understand that the Mac OS seems a little "Alien". Give it an actual chance, and you might see that it's better. At least Apple actually makes real progress where Microsoft gives it's below-par OS a GUI makeover.

I'm not really saying that OSX is bad, but the performance of windows compatible computers is usualy greater than that of OSX computers.

But yes OSX is a bit alien to me, just seams a little wierd with all the shaded bars and 3d afects and everything in an counterintuitive order, but still if I had grew up with a Mac I probably would have liked it better than PCs, soooooo.....

I'm not talking about you, I'm talking to all the people who said "mac sux poo" and such garbage that they can't prove.

Also, the speed of the os depends on the processor. Apple's processors are slower than Intel's but that's why they're switching.

MAC's just have less virus, becuase there are many more windows users, and people try and find the wholes and explot them, MAC's have many secruity holes too, ther was a thread about this a while ago.

Microsoft makes progress, from 4 to 2 service packs is progress already. MAC's dont progress they just go for the "new".

I'm not saying MAC's suck, nor saying they are great, each OS is good in its own way, I use windows becuase it can play games, more cabpatibilty.

I remember my old imac computer.The best moment i ever had with it was when i chained it to the back of my ute and dragged it through a paddock.....those were the days :P
