Well, Intel themselves decided to pit their future "mainstream" CPU with an FX-60....the results show a HUGE difference in performance. Intel did not allow the reviewers to see any settings on either machine and the FX-60 was supposedly overclock to 2.8Ghz so I have some doubts. I am not an AMD fanboy but this justs seems too good to be true. Either Intels new architecture is f**king awesome or something is fishy. I would like to see how well the future AMD AM2 socket will perform with DDR2 memory.

Our benchmark session used a pre-production Conroe 2.66GHz processor with industry standard DDR2-667 memory. This will actually be a classic 'mainstream' configuration for Conroe. When Conroe is launched, it will be supporting DDR2-800 memory and we have not seen Intel's Extreme Edition version of Conroe yet (which is rumored to be closer to 3GHz at least).
