Also, if its software from Microsoft that is marked OEM...it also means that it can only be sold along with a new computer or a critical part such as a CPU or Mother Board.

no you could sell it any way you want, i don't think you need a CPU, mobo or computer to buy it
 
you have to sell a qualifying product. I used to work for a microsoft reseller back in the day, and I sold OEM copies of windows with 3 dollar case fans.

However, you must bundle the OEM with something, you can not sell it alone. Technically you could sell it with just about anyting I think. Our system would not put in the price break for OEM unless you also had a piece of qualifying hardware on the same invoice. The cheapest thing I found that worked was a 3 dollar case fan.

You also get no support either. With retail boxed copies they usually give you 30 to 180 days support depending on the product/company. With OEM you get none.

i was wrong, i didnt know that you NEEDED to sell something with it.

If however your really keen on getting a cheap legal version.... look for an "Academic" priced "Upgrade" version.
In Australia, JB HiFi was selling some of XP Prof versions of these for AU$89.00. and they were selling them to anyone.

To legitamatly qualify for that product though, you should be a teacher or student, and you also need Win98,98SE,ME,NT,2K or XPHome ethier installed or just the original CD.
