This motherboard work with my cpu?

i am looking at getting this motherboard:

will it work with my amd phenom ii x4 940 am2+ 3.00ghz quad core?

Nope, that's an AM3 board. Your 940 is the old AM2+ type.

Why are you wanting to upgrade? There's not much point in it with your current setup....

There aren't any. AM2+ processors have an integrated memory controller, and don't support DDR3. Wouldn't make a huge difference, anyway...

Crossfire is a bit easier, though. There are 790FX/GX/X Am2+ boards.

I would say it will be longer then that. The Server Bulldozer suppost to be released sometime the first of 2011. The Desktop Zambezi sometime after that.
