This: Radeon 9800PRO 128MB - $175
or this: Leadtek 6600 GT AGP - $305
(currency is in australian dollars)

Im guessing the 6600 GT is better...but the the 9800 is $125 cheaper, and from what i know there isnt much difference between the two.
One last thing, whats the difference between say a Leadtek card and a Geforce card???

Thanks :)

I used to be a member here...by the name of satchmo if i recall correctly, but ive just got the money now to buy a new card and RAM, and since the last time ive asked about graphic cards the prices have gone down.

My specs:
Celeron 2.8ghz
256 ram
80 gig hd
crappy sound/video card
sis 661 fx MB

Yeah i know its a really crappy set up, but with new RAM/graphs card it should run games fine...so the 6600gt or the radeon? :)

It's a much better card, however we don't not know what games your into and your other system specs, so it's hard to tell if it's worth the extra money or not in your particular case.

Leadtek is simply a brand, they sell cards with nvidias geforce chips. Just like Asus, Abit, eVGA, MSI, XFX among others.

Games i wana play...Battlefield 2, Half life, Guildwars, you know the usual stuff. Just need your opion on the better deal..what would u get?

Well ive decided to go with the 6600 GT, and 1 gig ram (2x 512).
Got some more detailed specs for ya anyway:

CPU: 2.80 gigahertz Intel Celeron
8 kilobyte primary memory cache (8 kilobyte cache...is this any good?)
128 kilobyte secondary memory cache

Main Circuit Board: Board: SiS-661
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz

Drives: 80.05 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
72.50 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space

PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-107D [CD-ROM drive]
3.5" format removeable media [Floppy drive]

SAMSUNG SP0802N [Hard drive] (80.06 GB) -- drive 0, s/n S00JJ30X566853, rev TK200-04, SMART Status: Healthy

Memory Modules: 224 Megabytes Installed Memory

Slot 'A0' has 256 MB
Slot 'A1' is Empty

Display: SiS 661FX_760_741_M661FX_M760_M741 [Display adapter]
OEC 15.7 [Monitor] (15.7"vis, June 1997)

So, if i upgrade to a 6600GT, and 1 gig ram, it should be able to game farely well at medium settings with games like battlefield 1942, half life 2, guildwars, world of warcraft?
