I have an Intel Core 2 Dual, E6550, i have it run on Air cooling and water cooling, the temperature for Air is about 39-40*C and is unload with any games or programs, when loaded the temperature get to about 47-48*C is this ok?? and then i got a water cooling system. Unloaded at 39*c-40*C and loaded at about 46-47*C, is this ok for this CPU, and i found no different between air and water cooling, any help?

Yeah that is good, mine idles around 30 C and unload 40 to 50 C,

Mine is AMD, with the stock fan.

It's a little bit high, but any number of factors could contribute to a high cpu temp.
It's in a safe temperature range though, so don't worry unless it hits 45-50 idle.

what program are you using the measure the temps? RealTemp should be the most accurate.

If you are overclocking the E6550, then those numbers seem fine. But if it is running at the stock 333X7, then I would think something is either not measuring temps right or the heatsink isn't applied correctly.

what thermal compound do you use when applying the heatsink, and how much do you use? also, what heatsinks do you use?

A High temperature is getting towards 70 C, then you should be starting to get worried.

Ok im runing E6500 at regular, no overclocking, i would like to overclock, but i dont know how yet. im not runing using a heatsink, im using Thermaltake 750i bigwater cooling. the thermal compound i used is the stock that came with the 750I set. i applied the whole bag of the compound which is enough to cover the whole cpu.

P.S i used EVEREST Ultimate edition to test my temperature. its say 39*c CPU. CPU #1 39*c CPU #2 34*C

i tried realtemp, and its give me two temperature, one is 34*C and one is 29*C
