Thoughts on AdBlock?

Happy Holidays everyone! I was wondering what your thoughts are on the free version of AdBlock? I'm using Chrome and have found that it works, but not sure if it is doing something "malicious" behind the scenes that I don't know about. Also, I know it asked for "a donation" and I will be glad to pay something, but again I want to know if this is legit? Thanks

As long as it's the legitimate version of Adblock you installed, you're fine.

Yeah ad block is a great program. I won't run a browser without it.

I use Ublock and is the best.

Adblock has been superseded by uBlock. There's two versions. uBlock and uBlock Origin. I had issues with origin so I use uBlock. It's night and day difference loading my browser on a netbook that had Adblock installed before. So it really is faster.

How about you cite a source on that, because I'm finding nothing that says anything about Ublock superseding Adblock or Adblock going away.

This is what I read on another forum. Maybe it was Adblock Edge. Never the less uBlock is a lot better and faster.

Well I run Chrome and it's not bypassing Adblock.

Ditto. I also am using Chrome and it's doing a great job blocking ads.

Works great on Chrome at blocking most ads. Too bad some sites can detect it and won't load content until you disable AdBlock.
