Thoughts on ASUS A8N-SLI AMD MB

Well, I have an Asus, witch is my first build. Asus seems to be a popular motherboard company. I never had any problems with my mobo, infact I wish I could get the A8N-SLI (to cosly for me). So in my opinion this would be a great board. But before your should also check the LanParty boards from DFI, I hear good things about them too. Cheers :)

those were the other MB's i was looking at but somewhere i read a review saying if your a first timer, then you should stay away due to the "hard to read instructions" or something onlong those lines but thanks for the info.

ima first timer too.but like...iim building myself a new pc here are the parts so far...
Abit KN8 SLI nF4 Audio/GB-LAN/IEEE1394/PCI-E/SATA3G/DDR/ATX 64 939

have done a shit load of research...im gonna get

not enough USB's for me but that is sort of what im looking at a somewhat basic MB with SLI + DuelCore capablity

Hey

Yes the dfi's i have heard are not for first time builders more or less because of the hard to use bios with overclocking options. so mabey its not building its the overclocking part that u need to be weary of. But anyways i have an ASUS A8N-SLI-Deluxe (Newegg:D ) mobo and it is pretty much the same thing as the premium except for the heat pipe. so if your worried about one little chipset fan and its worth the extra money for the preimium than go for it. But i like my Deluxe alot and it has been good to me.

is there any real difference between the Deluxe and Premium models of this board other than the heat pipe?

No at least none that i know of!! That is why i got the deluxe model and spent the extra money on a better processor

yea i was wondering because it is like an $5 dollar difference between the two I believe

The bios in a DFI motherboard are a little complex i will agree, but with a little reading and research even a novice can aprieciate all the options that it gives you.
