I've been thinking about getting a new desktop since my last one bricked. I'm limiting myself to USD $700 (plus or minus 50).

I definitely don't want to waste money, I'd appreciate any advice or thoughts you have on this build.

Also, I'm thinking of buying the GPU in the next few days to take advantage of a really good offer on Newegg. Do you think I should go for it? I'm planning on actually building the computer in a few months.

Mehs, the only price the 290s are going is down. You might be able to pick up something like a fury nano by then instead (it's also so cute :P )

I think you should go for it. Looks like a good build for just 733 bucks! If it were me I'd spend a tad more on the board and maybe go Z97 but then again I guess H97 is fine since you can't overclock the i5 4460 anyway.

If you can afford to spend a little more I'd recommend adding an SSD to the build list. a 120GB or 250GB will be. Samsung 850 EVO is great, check out the http://www.computerforum.com/224966-drive-speed-thread.html Samsung dominates the leaderboards. SSDs make a huge difference to overall system performance. I've been using them for 4 years now and I wouldn't want to go back to having my OS installed on a HDD. :good:
