Thoughts on case size?

Hi all,

With some great advice from the forum here I've gathered the parts needed for my new build. Now I've got question on case size: I have two nice Antec cases, one full-tower and one mid-tower. Which would be better for my setup in terms of heat? Would there be a difference?

Here are the components:

Motherboard:ASUS M4A87TD EVO AM3

CPU:AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz

RAM:4 GB G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600

PSU:CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible

Hard Drive:Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" 32MB Cache

GPU:PowerColor AX6850 1GBD5-DH Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support

CD/DVD:LITE-ON 22X DVD Burner

I’ll be running Windows 7, not that it’ll make much difference.

Any thoughts?

Jack

You will be fine with either one, but full towers have more space, and thus will have better airflow. Better airflow = cooler pc.

Both will work great. If you have room for the full tower, it will almost always have better airflow, unless the mid tower has more/better fans.

Do you plan on upgrading anything or overclocking?

Thanks for the replies, guys.

No, I don't really plan on overclocking. This build will be so much faster than my current system that I won't feel the "need" to overclock for quite a while, if ever. :)

Thanks!

Jack

In general so long as you're not trying to do some extreme overclocking, you really don't have to worry too much about heat dissipation. Antec cases in particular are very well made, making heat even less of a worry. Just go with whichever you personally like better.
