Thunderbird 3.1 update.

i backed up first with the ver 2.??. Upgraded to 3.1 ver. Everytime i start it, it ask 'please enter password for software security device'. What is this?, before i go back to the other.

When i queried at Mozilla the question was there and others with same problem and no answers yet.
It was not the password for my email account.

Ok.....every time i went to email it asked for the password for the account.
i was typing it in every time. looked again under tools / options and passwords.
the option is there to turn it off. Might be useful but i don't need it.

Nope. Only worked a couple times. still asking for password.
checked it again and its turned off. suspect a fluke and maybe need a fix.

Now it says enter password manager to remember this password.
its working now. tried 10 times.
oh well.....

in Thunderbird goto tools, options, security then password tab.
Uncheck master password. the default is checked and have to put in everytime. the default should have been turned off.

restart then it will ask for the password again for the mail account. Enter the password for email account then check box remember my p.w.
thats it.
