time for an upgrade?

My comp has been having many problems, and is getting pretty outdated-I have become recently aware that COD2 doesn’t support my video card (Abit OTES g4 ti 4200) and was thinking about upgrading everything-

Before I make the plunge, from a cost and obsolescence perspective, I was wandering:

1. Should I wait to make the upgrade to 64bit hardware for windows vista at the end of this year?

2. Or should I just upgrade to a high-end sys to run XP Pro now?

thanks

you can still upgrade to 64 bit stuff now, although you might not make use of it for a while. its not all that expensive, and you can still run windows xp and everything else on it just fine. if you ask me, get it now, instead of going 32 bit, then a year down the road switching to 64 bit.

yea, get 64-bit AMD no doubt. wether you go with a $60 sempron, or a $325 dual core athlon 64 X2, go 64-bit. windows vista will be out this year to come and it will have 64-bit drivers, even though not all computing will be done in 64-bit... it will give you an advantage, i believe.
also, look into what type of video card and ram you're getting!
fast processor + slow video card = a waste of money!
also
fast processor + fast video card + 256mb (or even 512mb) of ram = LOSE!
also make sure the ram is at least ddr400 with low timings!
