time for an upgrade?

My comp has been having many problems, and is getting pretty outdated-I have become recently aware that COD2 doesn’t support my video card (Abit OTES g4 ti 4200) and was thinking about upgrading everything-

Before I make the plunge, from a cost and obsolescence perspective, I was wandering:

1. Should I wait to make the upgrade to 64bit hardware for windows vista at the end of this year?

2. Or should I just upgrade to a high end 32bit now?

I use the comp now for burning, games, and music.

thanks

I don't think 64bit will be as big of a deal as duel core. That's what most people are talking about, it seems. Perhaps look into some x2 or HT processor?

64bit is fine and dandy, but most software DOESN'T support it yet. There are actually ports for windows software so it'll work on X64. Things might improve later, but I think the major improvement will be duel core.

yea i think if you want an AMD build you can get 64 bit and that will work with windows, it also wont be the most money if you build with a Mid range cpu, motherboard and RAM, you wont need an expensive video card if your not going to game, depends on what you want to do with the new computer actually. post more for some better responses ;)

I would say go with an AMD Athlon 64 for good gaming and a good price. For a top spec PC, go for an AMD X2 dual core CPU.
