Hey guys,
I have a pretty good computer but I beleive some of it is outdated. I built it a year and a half ago and it is already somewhat lagging. It has:
Intel 3.0 ghz P4
Geforce 7600GT
Corsair 2 x 512
Intel LGA 775 mobo
250 gb Seagate Barracuda
550 Watt Antec PSU

I think the main parts are alright, but do you guys think I need a new processor/ ram? I am having difficulty playing games like Battlefield 2142 demo and Medieval 2 demo and would like to play the games on full settings instead of medium.
Thanks.

I disagree with sir kenin. You have a pretty decent video card, i would say update to a core 2 duo processor, i just got rid of my old pentium 4 2.8ghz to a 2.4 ghz E6600 C2D. If you can, update to a nvidia 7900gs 256mb or gt, GS is only £110 which is pretty good considering agp ati's are £150 upwards (x850gto)

You're going to want a new VGA and RAM anyways, so I would just buy that first, and if it doesn't help out much, THEN try a new processor. A 3.0GHz P4 is still decent.

My EVGA 7600 GT is only like 4 months old. It can not be outdated already! Maybe it's the RAM, since 1 gig isn't a lot these days for gaming. I actually thought it was my processor. The P4 3.0 ghz is rather old and I was suspecting of it lagging behind my computer but I guess not. Would I need to switch mobos for the new Core 2 Duo? Also, is it really worth it spending money now just to get a 7900GT and let my 7600 go to waste?
