Looking to build a new tower. Monitor is not an issue, same with keyboard, mouse, etc.
This computer will be for all-around normal use, some gaming, burning, the typical stuff. I am mostly looking to see if you think my components will be a good fit and nothing sticks out to you in the way of a bad component. I welcome any comments and also suggestions on how I could make it a better system, without raising the price. Not looking for fanboy comments regarding brands or other pointless suggestions just because "you have it."
The other thing I need is a good suggestion for a PSU for this system. I'm looking for a good quality and brand PSU around 700W or so, the more amps the better of course. Something reasonably priced around $75-90 should do it. I don't need people recommending 1000W psu's for say $150, just because "you won't regret it man, can't have too much power" or some other silly reason.
Enough of my rambling, on to the system:
CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Yorkfield 2.83Ghz LGA 775 ($220)
Mobo - Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R LGA 775 ($120)
Memory - G.Skill 4GB (2X2GB) 240-pin DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) times 2 ($110)
HDD1 - WD Caviar SE 320GB 7200rpm Sata2, 8MB cache ($50)
HDD2 - WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200rpm Sata2, 32MB cache ($100)
Optical1 - Sony black DVD drive ($18)
Optical2 - Samsung black DVD burner ($26)
GPU - Evga Geforce GTX 260 ($185)
Case - Antec P182 mid-tower ($145)
PSU - ???
Could I get memory for this setup that would give a fairly noticeable increase in performance (even on benchmarks, memory only), for about the same price?
