Time to upgrade ! :D

So i have just decided to upgrade my gaming computer that i build for about 2 years ago, but before am going to buy the new parts, i would like to hear what you guys think about them ;D

My spec now:

Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce 280 GTX
Ram: Corsair Dominator 2x2 (4Gb) ddr2
Power Supply: Corsair 750 watts
CPU: Intel core 2 duo 8500 3,16 GHz
Motherboard: Asus striker II Formula
Harddisk: WD Caviar Blue 500Gb x 2 (1Tb)

Here is some parts i want to change to, but am not quite sure what would work best:

Ram: Corsair XMS3 3x2 GB (6GB) ddr3 / Corsair Dominator 3x2 GB (6GB) ddr3

CPU: Core i7 I7-920 8 MB / Phenom II X4 965 6 MB "Black edition"

Motherboard: ASUS P6T / Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P

Harddisk: WD Caviar Green WD10EADS 1 TB / Samsung SpinPoint F1 Desktop Class HD103UJ 1 TB

What would work best? should i go with the AMD and the Gigabyte or the Core i7 and the Asus P6T?

maybe you got some recommendations for some other parts?

I'd grab the penom 2, but drop it down to a 955. the 965 is the exact same chip but witha slight overclock that the 955 can achieve anyway. no point in the price difference.

The RAM is a good choice.

Motherboards are good quality, but the hard disks you listed are not too good. You want a Caviar Black or Spinpoint F3.

As for other parts, I would recommend a 5850 if you can afford one. You could always start by selling all your current parts (on ebay or craiglist or to friends) and then buy the new stuff.

What kind of case are you using?
 
core i7 920 with P6T.

However, I would get core i7 930 with GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R and WD Caviar Black SATA 6.0Gb/s

hmm yah well, am still not sure what i should buy..
some people recommend the Phenom others the core i7, and i have actually never own an AMD CPU before (Intel all the way xP.. don't blame me)

well my case is a Thermaltake Armor+ (Full tower) so no need to worry about space problems ;D

and another quick question.. which of these motherboards is best :b?
