Time to write your government rep

and tell them that if this bull crap continues you will not vote for any politician that supports this. This in no way, shape or form is in the interest of the public. This is 100% in the interest of corporations. I am very disappointed in Obama's FCC right now.

Seriously, even if you do not live in the USA or cannot vote still write them on this. Tell them you will not stand for it. If you do, the Internet will forever be changed for the worse.

True, the regular people are getting back stabbed in this deal.

This about sums it up.

(It's not the FCC chairman's job to seek consensus among the corporations that he was put into office to regulate. His duty is to protect Internet users.)

The FCC's job is to enforce current laws. The FCC was lobbying for Net Neutrality and now they have backed off. Everyone needs to write their rep and say how bad this is. It will censor and ruin the Internet, and make things worse.

Otherwise you will be telling your grand kids, back in my day we could browse whatever we wanted and facebook didn't cost 3 cents per a page load, and traffic wasn't throttled from services that did not pay enough to get their service on the top tier.

The government is suppose to do things in the interest of the people as a whole, not the interest of a few that run giant telecom corporations.

It wont matter....thank the people from Wikileaks for this one. They pissed off the right people in government so now they are hitting this harder. I am not saying that Wikileaks is responsible but it showed the government how dangerous the internet is truly is. Especially considering how they saw Obama win the election (which was heavily internet campaigns). What kills me is Obama made this big stink over in China about the same type of thing and he wants to do it here now. Though I am not surprised at all that he can't keep a backbone for anything.

I of course will sign but I really have no hope in the future of the internet. Once they go to charge I will cancel my internet service and live without it.

great throttling speed unless i want to view ebay, CNN and amazon.com no thanks, hey maybe we will get good singleplayer games again because online gaming is about to be shot in the foot, we might as well go back to a dialup modem

You know it is coming at some point in time.

Well it passed in a 3-2 vote. Democrats got the win in the 5 person FCC board (3 Dems - 2 Rep). The new rules are not even published yet...interesting to see what they read like when the public gets a copy!

While it will take some time for us to analyze the FCC’s rules and the order once they are released, the FCC’s decision apparently reaches far beyond the net neutrality rules it announced today. Based on today’s announcement, the FCC appears to assert broad authority for sweeping new regulation of broadband wireline and wireless networks and the Internet itself. This assertion of authority without solid statutory underpinnings will yield continued uncertainty for industry, innovators, and investors. In the long run, that is harmful to consumers and the nation.

There is no doubt that the policies put in place by the Clinton Administration and the Bush Administration to jumpstart innovation and the spread of broadband worked. As a result, America’s broadband and Internet marketplace is intensely competitive and an engine of economic growth, job creation and multibillion-dollar investment. Today’s decision, however, unnecessarily departs from these successful policies.

A little at a time our freedoms go away in the name of security. Haha.
Can't say that I didn't see this coming, but ill guarentee that my internet is getting canceled when this goes into effect. Hell, ill use 56KB modem again.
