Timings a little off?

My ddr2 800 is showing up as 5-5-5-18 on cpu-z? im thinking its supposed to be more like 4-4-4-12. at ddr2 667 it was still 5-5-5-15.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Try lowering the timings in the BIOS, if it bothers you. You probably wont notice the difference though.

If you have it set to Serial Presence Detect it might set the wrong timings. I've had RAM like that. All you have to do is set it manually in the BIOS. If you get it wrong, it either won't boot or it will crash. No big deal. Just go back in and try another combo until you find something that works.

Thanks, actually i think the board is defective, my computer won't boot anymore. So im going to rma it.

Before you do that, clear the BIOS.

already have. do you need ram to post?
becasue if not then its either my video card, mobo, or cpu, and im leaning more towards the mobo.

You do need RAM to post. Are you getting any beeps?

alright thats what i thought.
no there are no beeps. i can hear my hard drive flicker on though.

You RAM might need more voltage to run at those timings. Check your RAM specs and see how much they should have.

It says 2.1, but i can't post so i can't get into bios to change the voltage and or timings.
