Timings Please?

Could someone please explain RAM timings to me. Is there a real difference between 7-7-7-20 and 5-5-5-18, i really don't understand this concept.

Lower timings = lower time for a certain instruction to get executed, thus if you get 2 DDR-2 modules at the same speed, one 5-5-5-15, and one 4-4-4-12, the lower one will be faster

Like said above. The 555-18 is better. If your talking about DDR2 neither one is all that great
