tiny hole on cpu

You mean the hole the pin goes into on the mobo, if so then your cpu wont work and could die if you dont clean it out.
 
no i mean the hole in the chip. upper right corner not the hole where the chip sits.

I would say that it'll still work because if you notice, the hole does not show the inside of the chip or anything, it's the green part. also, if the hole was there fresh from the box, then AS5 or any paste you use won't damage it, i mean, c'mon~ that's where you're supposed to apply that paste. I don't think they made such a mistake that when thermal paste goes into the hole they made the chip won't work. btw, i never knew there was a hole on the chip... hmmm
 
I know its a prerelease :P I just don't know if it's something common to them all or not (They don't send any to me :mad: )
 
Mine have that little hole :) ... my cpu was hard to get out so I took a pin (dvd emergency eject pin) and used it in the hole and made it easier to remove.
 
from the sound of things they are talking about a hole, all I know is my Prescott doesn't have that...
