^ agreed, although the clarkdales are hard to beat for HTPC use.
Yeah, if you're going to make a dual-core HTPC, then you will DEFINITELY future-proof it best with a clarkdale, for these reasons:
-LGA 1156 socket; Intel is already phasing our LGA 775
-Awesome performance is awesome
 
The 720 Black Edition would be in between the 550 and 955 but last time I saw it on the egg it was like $150 :eek: For that price just a couple bucks more get you the 955.

The Phenom II 720 Black Edition is $165 if you buy it with a heatsink. That is not a good deal. But, the original equipment manufacturer Phenom II 720 Processor without the heatsink is $110. I'm likely going to buy a Phenom II 720 without the heatsink in the next month if the price stays at $110.

The clarksdales do crappy in 3d apps. Well, I wouldn't say crappy but the previous released i5's and i7's whoop it hardcore clock per clock.
