im getting a new pc and was wondering whether i should get some cpu cooling? im gona get either a core 2 duo e6320 or e6430 and im not going to OC. il mostly be doing average stuff with my pc and probably some gaming. just hoping for some opinons!

Huh?

You have to cool no matter what? If your talking bout if you should get an aftermarket heatsink and fan than yeah it wouldn't be a bad idea.

You mean aftermarket cooling? There really isn't much of a point to buy an aftermarket heatsink if you don't want to OC. However, if you want a superquiet computer you might want to invest in passive cooling or cooling with large fans.

Aye it's a case of it it ain't broke, don't fix it. You only need a new cooling unit if you are overclocking or love the lack of noise. Even then, the Intel one isn't too bad.

Yeah, I really like the Intel fan, it has a pretty big diameter so noise is kept at a bearable level. The AMD fans are small and emitted a high pitch sound, very annoying.

Aye, I wanted to get my CPU cooler so I stuck it on full constantly and even now it's inaudible against one of the case fans!

ok cool, sounds like i wont need to invest in extra cooling then because i dont want to oc and im not to bothered about noise(at the moment). il stick with the standard cpu heatsink and fan this company is supliying me with. they were offering me the chance to upgrade to either a themaltake golden orb II or a thermal take sonioc tower both around 25 pounds, which i think is around $50.

A better investment would be a Zalman CNPS9500 but then again you're staying at stock, which the default cooler is more that capable of handling.

I got Zaleman Aero Flowers for my Dual socket computer Two huge processor fans in one case on full and I can only hear the rear case fan. The might be too big for midi cases though I was shocked to get them out of the box I thaught no way are these gonna fit in any case.
