To keep or return?

I just got a new monitor from my parents and I was just wondering if i should keep it or return it to get a different/better one. I was planning on building a computer right after the holidays and planned on buying a different monitor myself. The specs aren't astounding, but it's not a bad one... The only program, if it was purchased from Best Buy, you'll probably only get a gift card in return.
