To Overclock Or Not

I have an ECS PM800 M2 with a Celeron D 2.5 gig socket 478. Right now the CPU is running at 133mhz. It can go all the way to 166mhz. Is this something I can play with ot can I damage the hardware ?

Yes you can OC it, but dont go directly to 166, do it in small increments. Also watch the temps, and try to overclock it as high as it can go without raising voltages, since thats whats most likely can kill it.

...temp and voltage ..ok got it. I will increase gradually and watch those both. What would you say is a guess as to how far I can icrease the freq ?

FRY IT! LOL, I got a Celeron 2.7GHz I'll sell you if you do manage to kill it. Hehe ;)

But don't listen to me. I'm a diehard NON-overclocker :P
