To updrage over 1 GB SDRAM?

that makes no sense. its not necessary... why would it be necessary?
by the way the ram doesnt plug into the hard drive or something like that... theyre two different components that plug into the motherboard.

Well, considering my motherboard can handle up to 2 GB of memory, I didn't know if it would help make it faster or not. I tend to run alot of programs at once and it slows down because of that.

I know a hard drive and ram are completely different, I've installed ram manually before.
 
PC400? Do you mean DDR400 (PC3200)? And if so, then 1gig should be enough for generall purposes, but 2 gigs shouldn't hurt you.
