Too dark

Hi

Every time I start up CS:S I have to put up the brightness because it is too dark. Even when the brightness is all the way up, it is still too dark to see the 3 lines of text. I've tried making the config file a read only, I've tried using ATi's brightness settings for 3D Games, I've tried different drivers, I don't know what to do! Someone help me.. Thanks.

I have a ATi Radeon 9550..
 
So you're putting the brightness up in the game menu? Or using the monitor manually?
 
Is this just with the game? try saving your profile settings and do a reinstall of the game. that might work. :)
 
wat kind of monitor? have u changed contrast at all, thats likely the problem

change contrast in game and on ur monitor
 
Hi,

I can't change the contrast ingame, only the gamma.

Also I don't know what model my monitor is.. It's some big bulky thing with MAG Innovision on the bottom right.

My contrast is all the way up.
 
I've noticed that you made the same post in a different section of the forums.

Might I suggest that you make a link towards the old post so you don't have to have to go over similar conversations, thus eliminate having to use snappy comments like you did in your last post.
