Too many devices connecting to a 4 port router?

I have a 4port router. At any 1 time, there could be 7+ devices connecting to the wifi/router via ethernet. These run as...
desktop 1 - ethernet
desktop 2 - wireless
Laptop - wireless
Tablet 1 - wireless
Tablet 2 - wireless
Tablet 3 - wireless
PS3 - ethernet
Phone 1 - wireless
Phone 2 - wireless.

Now, day to day, the desktop1, desktop2, tablet 1,2,3 and phones 1 and 2 will always be connected. At points, the ps3 will be on as well.

Would I get better speeds if I bought a router that had 8 ports? Or if I used a 4 port switch for the wired connections, would that make a difference?

What router do you currently have? You'd probably get better speeds with a higher quality router such as this one:
