This laptop runs idle at 54c. And this is on a bare clean install windows 7

Come find out it has zero intake for air, its a mock vent. So I'm gonna have to bust out the dremmel and put holes in so its an actual functioning vent


Has to be a Design Flaw or bad QC check

I may just take a 1/8" bit and drill a bunch of holes. as I can do it between the fan blades without removing anything but the keyboard.

I was wondering why fan kicked on and off a lot and was hot. this CPU should idel in the low 40s, not 50s.

Granted the Tjmaxx is 105C, it doesnt need to run in the 60-70 range doing normal surfing. So sometime this week ill fix it up and allow it to breath. Cause this is a 5 year old laptop and its SPOTLESS inside zero dust. Go figure, if it cannot suck in cool air, no dust will come in.

I'd probably disassemble the laptop first and see what you're drilling through before you actually drill it.

Way ahead of you, taking keyboard off you can see fan clearly and bottom of case as well.

Their are vents on opposite side of laptop, my guess its su king air in on that side ,air moves over other hot components then out cpu exhaust.

This is a horrible design, and I'm going to not drill holes in case it faults other devices inside. So I'm going to try a cooling tray

Its a cheap laptop I paid $25 for so wife stay off mine, only needed new keyboard and DVD drive. May upgrade thermal paste for he'll of it.
