I have a Toshiba L505 Laptop running Windows 7 and a Magnavox 42MF438B/27 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV. I am trying to connect the two using a VGA x HDMI cable (since the TV does not have a VGA connection). I have the TV on HDMI 1, the cord plugged into HDMI 1 and the VGA Connector plugged into the VGA port on the laptop. I have tried FN F5 to connect the two but it doesn't work. I have gone into "connect to an outside device" to no avail. It will not "detect" another display. I have read where you need to download drivers to make it work but can't seem to find anything that works after searching on Google for hours. Can someone please point me in the direction I need to progress?
