I have A Toshiba 2595 cds its 5 years old it has 64 mb ram memory 32 bit windows nt and windows 98 intel celeron i have used the cd to reformat the hard drive twice in the past i clean out the temp files once a week and run scandisk defrag regularly but when browsing say ebay it will get real slow and sometimes freez up then it will stay slow and the fan seems to run alot untill i clean out the temps .on the system info it says the fat 32 file has 4117 mb and that i only have 42% space avalible on drive c 2402mb i do not know how the fat file got started ? or does that start on its own ?? if i reformat again will this remove the fat 32 files ??the other day we were going threw the files and under the D drive at the bottom it showed a W drive ?? what the heck is that i have not been able to bring that back up ?? i am also using aol 7.0 the computer would not run 9.0 it locked up when we tried . the only things stored in it are a kodak easy share picture program and about 75 pictures and a norton antivirus with updater and the aol stuff. the kodak program shows its in my start up should that be ? anyway what would you guys do to this to get it run alittle better could i put windows xp in it ?i have been looking at verizon dsl hoping that would help? i also plan on getting a new laptop soon but would like to see what i can do to this one in the till then and maybe learn something also thanks
