Toshiba Laptop help

I have a Toshiba laptop that every time I try booting it up, it goes as far as the Windows XP Home Edition splash screen, then I get the BSOD and then it boots itself again. It goes in a constant rebooting loop like this, and it would continue doing so if I let it. The only way I can stop it from happening is to shut it off at the main power switch on the machine. Any suggestions? If I am not showing as being online here, you may still contact me with you answer in a private messge too. I look forward to a solution! Thanks in advance!

Press F8 repeatedly after the BIOS screen to access the boot options. You can try safe mode first, but if it doesn't work, restart again, press F8 again, and select "do not restart on failure". This will stop on the blue screen, and allow you to see the error message. Post the message here.

This sounds like it's likely software related. Running a repair or full reinstall of Windows (or restoring from the Toshiba recovery CD) may solve your problem.

FloridaLizardQue, please try and be a little more careful with your posts. You posted the same problem three times.

I saw that, and I tried to delete the extra copies but I was unable to do so. I thank you for getting rid of the multiples.

Can you see anything that the BSOD says?
Can you boot into safe mode?

I cannot see anything on the BSOD, and I cannot boot in safe mode either. It just keeps booting over and over. I have tried pressing F8 to try and get into the boot setup. I also tried using the recovery CD's that came with the machine, but it stopped me with a big error message telling me I had the wrong machine. I guess I am going to have to buy a new OS and reinstall it over what is there. Oh well, such is life.
