greetings all,

i acquired a Toshiba satellite m35x-s114 series laptop computer....1.3ghz, win xp home, 40gb-hd, 512 ram.....i have a video display problem of which the screen has a 'ragged" display image at the right of the screen..if i move the mouse the ragged image will be filled in so-to-speak which looks like the mouse has a shadow in the ragged edges as mentioned above....it is really hard to describe!...additional to that, the entire screen seems to be "discolored"...

......this laptop has a good battery and power supply and does not have more then 3 hrs run time on it nor has it beed subjected to dropping or any other form of abuse....

.......do you think it could be a loose video card or similar? ..i just did a low level format on this last night and reinstalled the restore disc......when i first booted it up a day or so ago, the "ragged" video problem was not there and now is....i have taken a pict of a word doc and have attached it here in hope that it will display........any ideas?......ya think i should try and open this up and re-seat the video card (once i find it!).......please advise and thanks again for your assistance!!!!!!

update your video drivers.

.....there is a program that appears to be in here that does it....i accessed the program and i saw nothing about video drivers......not sure if that is the problem
but, i suppose it couldn't hurt.....i will try by tomorrow to take a pict of this with a digital camera and post..

....i just hooked the laptop to an external monitor and the display is fine....so, could it be a crappy connection at where the laptop display is connected with a connector to the mb?

.....ok, let me approach the problem like this...anyone know how the hell to take this computer apart?..i have removed ALL the screws including all the screws under the battery compartment, back, sides.......and i cannot separate the guts from the case....

...there is nothing on the toshiba website and on the phone toshiba is about as helpful as balls on a priest although nowadays...uh, well we won't go there!...grin.....how do a get the guts exposed on this?...

...it was working a day ago and i believe it is a crappy connection on the board......right now the main color of the lcd display is a reddish and all the fooling around with the display properties and drivers do nothing........HELP!......thanks!
