Toshiba laptop warentee problem

Hello everyone.

I need your advice.

Here's the problem: about a week ago, my laptop broke. The audio in port (to put head phones in). The audio in is in the front of my laptop, so when it fell, with headphones in it, the audio in port jammed into the computer.

I called toshiba, and told them everything that happened. The Tech support agent told me everything would be covered under my warentee. Now about half a week later, they call me telling me that it is going to cost me $400.

What would be your advice? Should i fight this? Please tell me what you think.

Thanks in advance,

MP

depends... read the warrantee statement and see what your rights are.
i think you're screwed... play their compassion if you want it repaired for free :P

If all else fails look for a replacement part or laptop minus hd cpu ram ( a laptop for parts really) and go from there.
