Toshiba MK6006GAH

Dear All,

I would like to replace my existing 60GB harddrive of my Dell Latitude X1 Computer with a bigger harddrive --)> 120 GB at least.

The actual built in Harddrive is an MK6006GAH 1,8" ATA-100, 60GB. I've been searching now for a while on internet to find a similar Harddisk with a higher GB but it seems that the only two models existing on the maret are a 30GB and a 60GB Version.

Could you help me to find out how I can solve this issue? is there any adapter existing, or harddrive?

Best Regards
Allen

Keep your 60Gig HardDrive installed, any larger (even though you can't find larger) will cause too much heat

If you need extra storage space, you need to purchase a USB external HardDrive, which can even be a Terabyte !!

It does, but you'd be better off getting a fast external drive. Then you have speed, mass storage, and portability!!

Thank you for your answer. I understand the utility of an external harddisk. However when you have 60GB think that Vista takes you 14GB, office around 1,5 GB and let say if you have some other adobe applications installer 5-10 GB are used also. So you have aproximatly 30GB of space left for your personal folders. Evenmore, programms are getting bigger and bigger.

Do you have a model in mind that you would sugest me? Toshiba offers only 30 and 60GB with this adapter.

Thanks in advance for your helpfull help.

Regards,
Allen
