i got a friends laptop i'm tryin to fix up.
it's a toshiba a65-s126
it's been gettin different blue screens which i determined was because of ram issues

i removed the stick on the underside and it seems to be working alright now. my thing is, i can't find where the other ram is so i can find out if it's a bad slot or a bad stick.

can anyone give me a hand with this?
all i need is to find out where the other ram is located.

most laptops i've worked on, the other ram slot is under the keyboard, but i'm havin trouble locating this one and can't find anything online about it.

If you can't see another stick near where that one stick was located, that's probably all it's got. Some laptops had ram actually soldered onto the motherboard, which may be the case with this one.

thanks for the info.
i never knew that they did that with laptops.
i've heard of some of the old-school desktops bein like that though. lol

that actually explains a lot. thanks

From what I can see online, that laptop only has one slot for memory. According to crucial.com it has one slot with 1280mb total allowed. There must be a 256mb soldered into the motherboard somewhere, which you can't remove. 256 + 1024 = 1280.
