Totally Black screen

I hope someone can help me, while I was working my 4 y/o grandchild played with my desktop computer system, I do not know what she did, but now my monitor is completely black, I can see the cursor arrow and I can move it but that is all.
I try to adjust the contrast, brightness,etc. no results either.

I am assuming that maybe she key some command but I do not know how to resolve this issue.

Does any one with more experience and knowledge could help me?
 
Have you tried rebooting your computer by either pressing the reset button or by pressing and holding the power button until it shuts off and then turn it back on? What happens when you press ctrl-alt-del, does the task manager come up?
