Totally Wipe Out Hard Disk

i am using window XP professional.
i want to totally wipe out my hard disk because my system seems to be slow.
i have been looking for software to wipe out my hark disk but cant find one that is suitable enough.
can anyone recommend me a good software to do this work.

hi,
your computer might be running slow because the hard disk is fragmented, windows has built in software to defragment your hard drive:

go to start>all programs>accesories>system tools>disk defragmenter

it will show you the status of your hard disk, and defragment it if necessary. if
also do a good virus check

ive got a sata drive, and can delete all data of the disk in BIOS if i want to, then reformat it after.

also after that it might be a good idea to partition your hard disk (if you want to reuse it, and set up your system again), so that the Operating system is on one partition, and your data on another, because they fragment differently
