TOTP Authenticator for Linux desktop

I have a Debian Linux desktop PC.

I wish to use a TOTP Authenticator on the above platform to secure various online accounts.

I do not need a password manager but just a simple TOTP Authenticator.

I have seen two authenticators of interest in Snap Store. :- authme and SMART 2FA Authenticator TOTP.

However I have not found any documentation for either of these, so I don't know how to use either of them.

Can anyone help, please ?

Generally, these all look and feel about the same. I believe this is the authme project, https://github.com/Levminer/authme. There are some screenshots and slightly more docs (barely) than the website.

Based on what I see there, you need to enter the 6 digit code from the service you want 2FA on. Then to log in, either you will get a push notification, or you will need to open the app and enter the code displayed for the site/service.

I would expect Smart 2FA is basically the same.
