Touch Pad Mouse- snap to feature

Does anyone know why, my snap to feature for my HP DV8000 laptop won't stay activated? I use it all the time and for some reason, it won't stay activated. I have been in my registry and changed the value from a 0 to a 1 and when I restart, it goes back to a 0. I can't figure out why? I have reformatted and installed only the touch pad drivers and it still does the same thing. Hp is kinda getting frustrating, cause they can't resolve it. I had 2 machines from them and they both do the same thing, but they can't duplicate it on their end........

You don't have any sort of registry protecting program? And I have had similar issues with Windows when altering settings in the past myself.
